Ube Cream Cheese Filling
From Ube cream cheese filling |
Ingredients:
8-oz cream cheese, softened
1 stick butter, softened
1-2 cups confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup ube haleya
1 tsp pandan essence (clear-colored)
10-15 (or more) drops of purple coloring [optional - you might like the contrast of colors]
Method:
Very easy. Blend well all ingredients. Add food coloring as desired, then beat some more. Use as filling for your ube roll (can also be used as frosting, but this is very sticky if you will wrap in cling wrap and put in the fridge. Better to use buttercream frosting for the purpose as it does not cling to plastic after refrigeration).

DeleteOliv, matagal nang naka post ang ube roll ko. If you look at the end of the post here where it says "You might also like" nandun ang link.
Deletekk po, thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for a good ube cake and could not find one. Do you have a recipe for that? I always google it but ube pandan or ube pandan macapuno always comes up and It's really hard for me to get pandan around here so I'm just looking for the ube cake,
ReplyDeleteClaire,
ReplyDeleteNada as of now. Will try to experiment sometime this week. (fingers crossed!)
manang, is there any substitute for pandan essence, i dont like pandan kc... or would it affect the flavor if i dont include the pandan? ty.
ReplyDeleteellen,
ReplyDeleteyou can definitely omit the pandan. If you want, just use plain vanilla.
hi! just wondering if you have the recipe for ube cake already. i need a cake for this lovely ube cream cheese filling.
ReplyDeleteHi Jin,
ReplyDeleteI do have it: ube cake roll but be warned that it is nothing like goldilocks or red ribbon. Very good per my palate nonetheless. :)
hi there manang..i was wondering what do you mean by 1stick of butter? whats the measurement for this?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
ReplyDelete1 stick butter is 1/2 cup, or 8 tbsp, or 1/4 lb (or 4 oz)
Hi Manang ...thank you ,thank you sa mga recipe mo .I'll stick to ur website coz its much clear and well explained , so it's easy to understand most especially it has pictures.keep posting and god bless you and ur family .
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my site and thank you for your comment! I hope you will enjoy many recipes here. I am busy reviewing for a major exam that will probably cover about 1-2 years, so I will not be posting too often, but I do hope I have enough in my database to keep you busy for a while. :)
Hi manang ....I try to make the ube roll but unfortunately it's not successfull,so sad . But anyway I won't give up ....just wanna ask how you make the icing ? till here and thank you . god bless you!
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThat's the spirit! Try and try until you succeed. Just try to review what you did and try to troubleshoot...see where you went wrong.
The recipe above for filling is the same one I used for frosting.
Hi manang, I really loved ube cake. but can I used ube powder instead of halaya? pls. reply. I've tried ur super soft ensaymada and super sarap po ng result. Thank you and God Bless.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, Yes you can use the powder. Prepare it as halaya first before using in this recipe. I have used ube powder to make halaya before, and while I did not like it as halaya, it was ok once mixed with cake batter (for this) or with vanilla ice cream (for ube ice cream).
ReplyDeleteHELLO MANANG, THANKS FOR THIS NICE RECIPE. IF I USE UBE POWDER , IS THE MEASUREMENT STILL THE SAME WITH UBE HALAYA? U USED 2/3 CUPS OF UBE HALAYA , SAME ALSO WITH THE UBE POWDER?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteAs long as you prepare the ube powder first as halaya, then proceed to get the 2/3 cup to use for this recipe. You can then use the rest of your ube halaya as plain dessert.
Why do U put Pandan? Why not Ube extract/essence?
ReplyDeleteHi Lahla,
ReplyDeleteI probably would if I had an ube flavored MCCormick essence/extract. Pandan was all I had at the time, and I figured I'd use it since they go very well together anyway.
hello po. Gusto ko lang pong mag tanong kung meyron po ba kayong recipe sa ube cake with macapuno?
ReplyDeleteHi cheska01, sorry I don't, but try this and just add macapuno in the filling.
ReplyDeleteManang, today is Oct 12, 2012, where are you now? Why you stop posting in your website?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous,
DeleteToday is 10/13/2012, 8:46 am and I just got back from work. Your comment made me laugh. Someone misses me! Haha! I have been on fb from time to time. I have a draft about apples, but I haven't had the time to make a post yet. I have to upload photos on those. Other than that, I really got no new recipes because I got into a diet mode (I lost about 13 pounds already since June, and I am just trying to maintain my slow weight loss until I reach 120 lbs and still not get hungry). Thanks for your comment! :) Will try to post next week, but I gotta clean up the house first :)
